Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is highlighting the importance of a “plan to save the country’s Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.”

The Democratic senator said that “vulture capitalists” like the Koch brothers and the “billionaire class” would be “a huge threat” to seniors under the plan.
Warren, the most senior Democratic senator, said the plan would cut benefits for seniors, as well as other benefits.
Trump has been pushing his “Pension Plan,” a plan to save Social Security and Medicare for the next two decades.
The plan would create a private-bond fund for the Social Security trust fund, a separate fund to provide other government benefits and a plan that would eliminate tax deductions and the ability of individuals to contribute more than their income.
It would also create a fund to pay the government’s share of health care costs.
A number of Republicans are calling for the plan to be scrapped entirely, and Warren has repeatedly criticized Trump’s plan as “voodoo economics.”
She said that a “vow to save our seniors” is a “bold, bold, bold idea.”
Warren said the president’s plan would push the middle class further into poverty, as “they would be cut off from any benefits that we offer.”
The Democratic senator also called on Congress to reject the plan, saying, “We need to get our act together.”
Trump is proposing that the Social, Medicare and Medicaid programs be consolidated under a single plan, a proposal that would increase federal deficits by $7.8 trillion over 10 years.
He also called for the “death tax” on high earners to be eliminated, a tax on income over $1 million that has been part of the Republican tax plan.
