By Mark Maske, Associated Press WriterAUSTIN, Texas — The Dallas Stars have placed defenseman John Klingenberg on injured reserve, coach Lindy Ruff announced Friday.
Klingenberg has missed nine games with a lower-body injury.
He was injured Nov. 16 when he collided with Winnipeg Jets defenseman Justin Schultz in the offensive zone.
He has missed four games and has a goal and five assists in 18 games since returning to the lineup.
“I think it’s a very good day for us,” Ruff said.
“Obviously, it’s not been the easiest of years for him, but he’s been through a lot.
We’re excited to have him back.”
Klingenberg, 24, has scored two goals and added two assists in six games this season.
He had three goals and two assists for four points in seven games before being sent to Dallas in a trade with Winnipeg.
